UPDATE: Severe thunderstorm watch ended for Grande Prairie region

UPDATE: Environment Canada has ended the severe thunderstorm watch for the Grande Prairie region, including Beaverlodge and Valleyview. As of 4:24 p.m. the watch for Peace River and Fairview continues.

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Grande Prairie, Beaverlodge and Valleyview areas along with Peace River and Fairview.

According to national agency thunderstorms are forecast to develop over northwestern Alberta, with some thunderstorms likely to become severe, producing large hail, heavy rainfall, and strong wind gusts.

“These thunderstorms will continue into the evening hours and weaken as the sun sets.”
