UPDATE: Child on bicycle killed in crash with holiday trailer

UPDATE: The intersection has reopened.

The preliminary investigation has found that a truck pulling a holiday trailer was heading west on 100 Avenue when there was a collision between the trailer and a child on a bicycle at 96 Street around 3:24 p.m. They suffered serious injuries and were taken by EMS to hospital where they passed away.

An investigation continues.

Police have confirmed a pedestrian has died following a crash at the intersection of 100 Avenue and 96 Street in Grande Prairie. Traffic is still being detoured away from the location.

An RCMP Collision Analyst has been called in to help investigate the cause of the collision. No further details have been released but police say an update will be given when available.
