Traffic delays expected due to construction on 111th Avenue

Construction on 111th Avenue just east of 100th Street is expected to be completed by mid-July according to the City of Grande Prairie.

The work being done in this area includes repaving of the road, concrete work, repairs to the storm sewer infrastructure and landscaping. While crews are working speeds will be reduced to 30 kilometres an hour and only local traffic will be allowed with short-term road closures expected.

Project Engineer Daniel Dawson says the work is part of a commitment to improving road infrastructure around the city.

“The road work on 111 Avenue is a crucial step towards enhancing the quality and longevity of our roads, ensuring a smoother and safer travel experience for all,” Dawson says.

Crews will be working in the area from Monday to Sunday.
