Mobile mammography service headed to Hythe and Spirit River

Alberta Health Services is planning to bring its mobile mammography unit to Hythe and Spirit River later this month.

The trailer will be at the Hythe Community Centre July 23, 24, 27, and 28 and at the Central Peace Health Complex in Spirit River July 29 to 31 and again from August 4 to 7.

The mobile unit helps AHS reach women in more remote, northern Alberta communities where mammograms may not be readily available. The breast x-rays have been proven as the most effective way of detecting breast cancer early on.

Residents can book an appointment through screeningforlife.ca.
