Seniors in both the City and County of Grande Prairie will have some free activities to help celebrate Seniors’ Week in the region in June.
Several free events will be held at the Eastlink Centre including deep aquatic classes, dryland fitness classes and multi-sport events with things like pickleball and cornhole on the menu for participants to enjoy.
“The City is looking forward to being part of Senior’s Week, an important celebration in our community! Having these events to support and connect with seniors, is an integral part of building an inclusive, caring community,” says City of Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton.
“Seniors play such an important role in our communities. Through their hard work and contributions across the region, they established the community values and heritage that we hold dear to this day,” says County of Grande Prairie Reeve Bob Marshall.
You can find a full list of events and times on the City of Grande Prairie website. Seniors week runs from June 5th-11th.
