Slope work partially closes Muskoseepi Park trail

A section of the hiking trail north of 68th Avenue on the west side of the Bear Creek will be closed starting Tuesday, May 23rd as crews start on slope repair work. This will include sections of asphalt and temporary trail being removed and repaved.

To avoid the area residents are being advised to detour around the construction area by using the trail between 102 Street and Kateri Drive. According to the City of Grande Prairie, trail closure and detour signs will be put up before construction begins.

68th Avenue westbound will also see intermittent lane restrictions west of the bridge, as crews use this area to access the site to deliver materials and equipment. Capital Construction Supervisor Mark Hoseasson says the safety and quality of the cities trails is a top priority.

“We apologize for the temporary inconvenience caused by the closure, but it is necessary to carry out slope repair work,” Hoseasson says. “Our dedicated crews will work efficiently to complete the repairs and repave the affected sections. We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of all trail users as we strive to enhance the trail experience for everyone.”
