Teens stranded overnight on Red Willow River rescued

Two teenage boys had to be rescued from the banks of the Red Willow River near Beaverlodge this morning. According to a post on social media, the teens went tubing Sunday, but got ahead of the family member they were with.

A search party headed out early this morning, and STARS Air Ambulance was dispatched around 8:15 a.m. Spokesperson Fatima Khawaja says they were able to locate them and bring them to a staging area near Highway 722 south of the town.

They were checked out by medical personnel, but didn’t need any care or to be taken to hospital.
