Evacuation order downgraded for part of Township Road 710 to Wapiti River

The evacuation order for part of the Township Road 710 south to the Wapiti River area has been downgraded to an alert. As of 8:01 p.m. Friday those who live in the area between Highway 40 and Range Road 63 are allowed to return home.

Though they can return home residents are being advised to stay prepared to evacuate with a 30 minutes notice, by having important documents and three days worth of medications, food, water and any other important items or supplies; along with preparing pets and livestock.

As of Friday night the evacuation order remains in place for the area of Township Road 710 south to the river, between range Road 63 and 75.
