RCMP in Dawson Creek is looking into whether there is a connection between an attempted child abduction and a serious child pornography investigation. 31 year old Kevin James Belcourt is facing charges of sexual assault, sexual interference, and luring via telecommunications after police searched his home and devices that could hold digital images in June.
Staff Sergeant Marcel Guilbeault says they’re looking into whether the case may be linked to April 15th, when two men in their twenties unsuccessfully tried to get an 11 year old girl into their silver van. The RCMP’s Integrated Child Exploitation Unit has been asked to help investigate evidence that suggests a number of underage victims.
