Air quality concerns from Alberta wildfires

A precautionary air quality advisory has been issued for the entire province, due to smoky conditions. There are just under 100 wildfires burning across Alberta, and smoke from ones in High Level is drifting into the Grande Prairie area. Anyone with health concerns should check the Alberta Health Services website or call 8-1-1.

The region is continuing to experience dry conditions but the temperatures cooled down over the weekend, and some areas got rain. There are still no active wildfires in the GP Wildfire Management Area.

The fire advisory issued Thursday remains in effect, meaning no new fire permits will be issued. Campfires are still allowed in campgrounds and the backcountry.
