Lacrosse Minor Box Provincial Championships arrive in Grande Prairie this week

60 teams of young lacrosse players from across Alberta will be descending on Grande Prairie later this week to compete in the 2015 Alberta Lacrosse Minor Box Provincial Championships.

Male and female teams from bantam, pee-wee, midget, and novice levels will all be competing in the tournament which begins with the opening ceremonies Thursday evening at Revolution Place.

Games will be held a seven different venues around the region, including the Dave Barr Arena, the Sexsmith Arena, the Leisure Centre, and Revolution Place.

Another venue, the Crosslink County Sportsplex will also be hosting a free men’s and women’s field lacrosse Come Try It day with members of team Canada on Saturday.

The games themselves get started Friday morning at 8 am and continue through the weekend.
