An extra hurdle has been added for anyone looking to drive between Whitecourt and Grande Prairie. In addition to the closure of Highway 43 between Bezanson and Valleyview, the highway is also closed 15 kilometres west of Whitecourt.
511 Alberta says a downed powerline pole has closed all lanes in both directions near Virginia Hills Road. Traffic is urged to use a different route, but a specific detour has not been given. People are warned of traffic congestion and the need to stop in the area.
