A special air quality statement has been issued for the Peace River – Fairview – Manning region. Wildfires in the northwest territories are causing smoky conditions and poor air quality.
People in the area could experience health issues like irritated eyes and throat, or shortness of breath. Environment Canada recommends locking all outside windows and doors, keeping vents closed in your vehicle when travelling, and reducing physical activity.
People with existing conditions could see their symptoms worsen, while children and seniors are at a higher risk of getting sick.
