Peace Country students qualify for Skills Canada Alberta competition

Grande Prairie is among 68 communities participating in the Provincial Skills Canada Competition in 45 trade and technology events. More than 600 students will participate in the two-day event and 25 of those students are from 19 schools across the Peace Country.

Executive Director of Skills Canada Alberta Chris Browton says all their competitors represent the values of Skills Canada Alberta.

“We are proud to work with Alberta’s industry, education, and government stakeholders to inspire, develop, and elevate Alberta’s skilled youth.”

The competition will run May 3rd and 4th at the Edmonton EXPO Centre. The gold medallists will then become part of Team Alberta and compete at the 2023 Skills Canada National Competition in Winnipeg, Manitoba on May 25th and 26th.
