A third victim has been identified in relation to a case regarding the alleged sexual assault of a minor. According to RCMP, 28-year-old JJ Lenin Butler is facing additional charges including sexual interference, sexual exploitation and sexual assault.
On April 26th, Grande Cache RCMP reported an educational assistant in the area was facing numerous charges after they received a report about two minors who had been sexually exploited by the 28-year-old man. Following an investigation by the Grande Cache detachment with help from the Western Alberta RCMP General Investigation Section Butler was arrested and faced six charges including possession of child pornography.
Butler has been released on conditions from custody and is scheduled to return to court on May 4th. According to officials, no more information will be released as the matter is now before the courts.
RCMP believe there may be additional victims and are encouraging them to come forward. Grand Cache Victim Services Unit is available as a support for the victims.
