2023 marks the 11th year of the annual Alberta Open Farm Days and the deadline for farms to register as hosts is set for April 30th.
CEO of Alberta Open Farm Days Tim Carson encourages farms across the province to sign up to be part of this the program and share their production process with the public.
“It’s honestly an opportunity for people to find out where their food comes from, meet the livestock steward, see how that process works, the care, concerns, and meet the people who make it.”
Training will be available for host farms to prepare to open their doors to the public this summer.
115+ producers are expected to participate in 2023, with diverse operations ranging from honey producers to craft breweries and bison farms.
The two-day celebration of agriculture event is scheduled for August 19th and 20th, 2023.
