County looking for feedback on future development in southwest Clairmont

County of Grande Prairie officials are looking to get the public’s feedback on its proposed Windsor Area Structure Plan, which will envelope much of southwest Clairmont.

The plan, according to the county, looks at the future development of approximately 388 hectares of land from Highway 43 south to the City of Grande Prairie boundary, between Range Road 62 and Range Road 63. The land is allocated for primarily residential development, but, mirroring the neighbouring Whispering Ridge development, commercial development is proposed along the outside of the area, with several proposed school sites also included.

Planning Manager Reed Desroches says work has taken place over the last several years, and the feedback and input gathered from residents will help them finalize the proposed concept.

“The plan was developed and refined based on engagement with residents, local developers, and other groups that took place pre-pandemic,” Desroches says. “Anyone who is interested to learn more about future development guidelines for the area and provide that final input are encouraged to attend.”
