Countryside South homes damaged in fire

At least two homes have been damaged by a fire in the Countryside South area Friday night. The Grande Prairie Fire Department says it was called to the scene just before 5 p.m.

When firefighters arrived, it’s reported that one home was already included in a “substantial” fire, which quickly spread to its neighbour to the north.

“Crews worked to suppress the fire involving the two houses and protect the neighbouring residences,” says Platoon Chief Jake Pruden.

No injuries have been reported. One dog was rescued from the main home and multiple people have been displaced.
