A Grande Cache educational assistant is facing numerous charges related to the sexual assault of a minor. According to RCMP on April 18 they received a report about two minors who had been sexually exploited by the 28-year-old man.
JJ Lenin Butler was arrested following an investigation by the Grande Cache detachment with help from the Western Alberta RCMP General Investigation Section. Butler is facing six charges including sexual assault, possession of child pornography, and sexual exploitation.
Butler has been released on conditions from custody and is scheduled to return to court on May 4th. According to officials, no more information will be released as the matter is now before the courts.
RCMP believe there may be additional victims and are encouraging them to come forward. Grand Cache Victim Services Unit is available as a support for the victims.
