Grande Prairie residents invited to Neighbourhood Associations engagement Session

The city is inviting Grande Prairie residents to attend a Neighborhood Association engagement session. Neighbourhood Associations are registered societies run by a volunteer-led board of directors who act as advocates on behalf of the neighborhood for community needs and help create a fun community where residents are better connected with the municipality.

Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton says they want to provide residents with the tools they need to create their own Neighbourhood Association if one already isn’t in place.

“Neighbourhood Associations play an important role in making Grande Prairie an exceptional place to live, learn, work, and play. All members of the community are invited to come to the engagement session to provide feedback, learn more about Neighbourhood Associations, or both.”

The engagement session is said to provide information about how to start a Neighbourhood Association, receive public feedback, and feedback to identify new amenities or improvement residents would like to see.

The engagement session is set to take place on May 10th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Centre 2000.
