Environment Canada is advising that temperatures in parts of central and southern Alberta will be well above average this weekend.
The statement affects the communities of Whitecourt, Edson, and Fox Creek where the warmest temperatures are expected Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Daytime highs are forecast to reach the low to mid 30s.
Overnight lows are not expected to drop below the mid to upper teens meaning there will be limited relief from the heat.
Warm temperatures are expected through to at least Canada Day next week.
