The Spirit River Rangers took bronze at the Sr. AA Provincials, coming out on the positive side of a dominant 14 – 4 game against the Elk Point Elks.
The Rangers dropped two games during the four-game tournament. The Spirit River team lost its first game of the weekend against the hosting Wainwright Rustlers 7-3 and also lost its first competition against the Elks the following day 4-3. The Rangers’ first win of the weekend came against the Sisika Buffaloes 6-5.
After the bronze medal finish, the organization took to Facebook saying it “cannot wait to get things started for the 2023-2024 season!” The Rangers represented the North Peace Hockey League at the provincial tournament after a several-year absence.
