The unemployment rate in western Alberta saw a decrease last month. According to Statistics Canada, the region that includes Grande Prairie had an unemployment rate of 5.3 per cent in the month of March compared to 5.6 per cent in February and 5.2 per cent in January.
The rate across Alberta moved to 6.3 per cent from 6.0 per cent in February. The unemployment rate across the nation is sitting at 5.4 per cent last month, up from 5.1 per cent in February.
