Sod turning marks start of Grimshaw schools construction

Construction is getting underway on two new schools that will be attached to the Mile Zero Regional Complex in Grimshaw.

A sod turning ceremony was held Tuesday for the Grimshaw Schools Shared Facility Project, which includes a new K to 9 Catholic school and K to 12 school for the Peace River School Division, along with shared spaces like a community theatre, public library, and Career and Technology Studies classrooms. They’ll replace Holy Family School, Grimshaw Junior/Senior High, and Kennedy Elementary.

Completion is expected by September 2016.
