The city far surpassed a more than 70 year old rainfall record Monday. 40.6 millimetres unofficially fell in Grande Prairie, after at least one funnel cloud was spotted.
The previous June 22nd record was 17.5 millimetres, set in 1943.
So far this month, Grande Prairie has gotten 135 millimetres of rain. Last June only saw 52.4.
