County and VolunteerGP celebrating National Volunteer Week with social media posts

April 16th to April 22nd is National Volunteer Week. The County of Grande Prairie says they will be highlighting some of the volunteers found throughout the County on their social media pages for the whole week.

The Grande Prairie Regional Association of Volunteers Organizations, also known as VolunteerGP, plans on celebrating National Volunteers Week with special packages that will include a list of activities and suggestions local organizations can use to celebrate their volunteers.

VoulunteerGP says a few ways you can give a bit of extra love to volunteers in the community throughout the week include hosting a volunteer appreciation day, delivering coffee and treats to your favourite non-profit, or giving them a shout out on social media.

Organizations can share their NVW activities on their social media and add @VolunteerGP and #NVW2023 for reposting.

This year’s NVW is set for the week of April 16th to the 22nd and the celebration packages will be available for pickup starting April 3rd at the Grande Prairie Regional Association of Volunteer Organizations office.

National Volunteer Week is a nationwide event to acknowledge more than 24 million volunteers serving their communities through not-for-profit organizations.
