Fort St. John man charged with manslaughter

A manslaughter charge has been laid against a Fort St. John man accused of fatally punching a 29 year old.

On May 18th, Travis Waite was taken from a local home to the Fort St. John Hospital with a head injury. He was transferred to a Vancouver hospital later that night, and succumbed to his injuries on the 30th.

27 year old Cody Kenneth McDonell was arrested at the home the night of the incident and was originally charged with Aggravated Assault. That was upgraded to manslaughter on June 15th. He has been released on bail and will next appear in court on July 22nd.
