Aquatera rounding up household hazardous waste

City and county residents with old electronics or household hazardous products can get rid of them for free this weekend. Aquatera is holding its annual waste round up Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Eco Centre.

Everything from vehicle batteries, automotive chemicals and cleaning supplies to beauty products and aerosol cans will be accepted, even if they’re corrosive, explosive, flammable, or toxic. The Eco Centre is a safe place to dispose of those products year round instead of sending them to the landfill.

The event will also feature a barbecue lunch and family activities by donation to the Prader Willi Foundation, an organization that helps people living with the rare genetic disorder.
