UPDATE: Shelter-in-place for Westpointe area lifted

UPDATE: The shelter-in-place order for the area has been lifted but police remain on scene as of 2:38 a.m. The RCMP says there were no injuries reported as a result of this incident.

Additional details will be provided at a later time.

Grande Prairie RCMP are currently responding to a police incident on 115B street between Range Road 63 and Westpointe Drive.

While no details have been made public, police are asking residents to avoid the area and shelter in place. Access to the area will be limited until further notice.

The police are asking the public to refrain from taking photos from the scene.

More details will be released as they become available.
