A local coach has been named the Alberta Cheerleading Association’s Coach of the Year. Danielle Harvey received the honour at the ACA’s awards banquet in Edmonton last weekend.
Grande Prairie’s Gymniks All Stars Cheerleading teams also took home the Supporting Community Spirit bronze award, while program coordinator Jennifer Lekisch was recognized for her five years of service.
While the season may be over, there is still plenty going for cheerleaders this summer. Summer camps, tryouts, and clinics are all on the way.
