The town of Sexsmith has chosen a new councillor.
The town has released unofficial results showing that Clinton Froehlick has been elected with 133 votes, 88 more than the next candidate Jeanne Lomenda. Froehlick also beat out Pauline Nelson and Kim Green for the seat.
Froehlick was born and raised in rural Sexsmith, along with his wife Carley. Together they have three children. The 31 year old has also managed the Sexsmith arena for the past 14 years.
The byelection was announed after a seat was vacated by former councillor Jordan Hack, who move outside of the town’s boundaries. The unnofficial tally counted more than 220 ballots cast yesterday.
