Two Peace Country residents charged after RCMP located stolen truck connected to B.C. crimes

Grande Prairie RCMP has arrested a 46-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman after locating a stolen truck. The silver Dodge flat deck truck, which was stolen from Wembley in August, is suspected of being involved in several crimes in Fort St. John and Dawson Creek, B.C.

RCMP attempted a traffic stop before the driver of the truck fled from police. The man and woman in the truck eventually abandoned the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot before being arrested.

Chantal McDonald of Beaverlodge is facing a charge of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 while Darin Loeppky of Wembley is facing the same charge, along with flight from police, failing to comply with a release order, and unlawful possession of a government identity document charges. Loeppky was also wanted on several outstanding arrest warrants from B.C. at the time of his arrest.

McDonald was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial court on December 5th. Loeppky remains in custody and is being transported to B.C. He is scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on November 28th.
