No physician in Beaverlodge emergency department overnight Tuesday

There won’t be a physician in the emergency department at the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital from 8 p.m. Tuesday night until 8 a.m. Wednesday. Alberta Health Services says nursing staff will be there to provide triage and assessments and to refer patients to healthcare facilities in surrounding communities.

“This is a temporary measure and AHS is working hard to ensure local residents continue to have access to the care they need during this time.”

Anyone experiencing a medical emergency is urged to call 9-1-1. EMS will be re-routed to the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital or the Central Peace Health Complex in Spirit River.
