Peace River MLA appointed Deputy Whip

Peace River MLA Dan Williams was selected by the United Conservative Party to serve as the Deputy Whip. The United Conservative Party caucus voted for Williams to be the person in charge of , among other things, ensuring party discipline. In a press release, Williams says as Deputy Whip he is focused on a competent caucus focused on ‘putting Albertans first.’

“This role is incredibly important to carry out the business of government. I look forward to working with Premier Smith and the rest of our United Conservative team in my new position,” Williams says.

Last November, Williams was named parliamentary secretary to the Minister of Culture and for la Francophonie. He also has worked as a staffer for ex-Premier Jason Kenney in Ottawa and worked at a gravel and construction company until he was elected. Williams has been the representative for the Peace River Constituency since April 16, 2019, winning the seat over NDP candidate Debbie Jabbour.
