Grande Prairie lab services moving to private site

Laboratory services in Grande Prairie will be moving to a new facility at the beginning of December. On December 5th, the new DynaLIFE Medical lab will open, replacing both Alberta Precision Laboratories in the city. The new lab is expected to add the capacity that is needed to serve Grande Prairie’s growing community.

Appointments can still be booked at the Alberta Precision Laboratories Junction Point and Grande Prairie Regional College locations until December 4th. Appointments at the Junction Point location will continue until December 4th, while appointments at the Grande Prairie College location will continue until December 2nd. Other health services at the college won’t be affected by this lab change.

As of December 5th appointments will be offered at the new DynaLIFE lab. The lab will be open seven days a week, Monday to Friday it will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., while Saturday and Sunday it will be open from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

With the opening of the DynaLIFE Community Lab, the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital lab will no longer take walk-in patients and will be sent to the new location in the Lipon Professional Centre at 11002 104 Avenue. The hospital lab will, however, continue to serve immunocompromised patients that are referred by a clinic or physician.
