Peace Country marks Remembrance Day

Several ceremonies were held in communities around the Peace Country Friday morning to mark Remembrance Day. In Grande Prairie, people gathered outside at the cenotaph in Jubilee Park for the Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans Unit 389 parade and ceremony, while inside at Bonnetts Energy Centre, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #54 held its ceremony.

Presentations and music are planned at the Grande Prairie Legion for the rest of the day, with the public invited to take in a roast beef dinner and dance in the evening.

Ceremonies were also held in Wembley, Beaverlodge, Spirit River, and Sexsmith. The ceremony in Jubilee Park can be viewed here and photos from Bonnetts Energy Centre are below.
