UPDATE: Power restored to west/central Grande Prairie

UPDATE: As of 4:10 p.m. ATCO says power has been restored to all customers. The cause is reported to be third-party contact.

Roughly 1,000 customers are without power in Grande Prairie Tuesday afternoon. ATCO Electric says the light went out around 1:51 p.m. for 1,035 customers in the central and west end of the city.

Included in the outage is the Westgate Power Centre as well as the lights at the Costco intersection. The cause of the outage is under investigation and the estimated time of restoration is 5 p.m.
