Businesses able to access Human Resource services through new county program

The County of Grande Prairie’s new assistance program will help local businesses access human resource services. Earlier this month the county approved funding for the new grant, with applications opening early this week to kick off small business week.

The program is open to medium and small-sized businesses that have less than 100 employees and don’t already have a human resources department. Reeve Leanne Beaupre says that the program is another commitment the county is making to help its businesses and ratepayers.

“It helps out those businesses to be able to come up with a human resources policy, or actually use it towards human resources,” Beaupre says.

Beaupre adds that with everything businesses have gone through over the last three years, she thinks this is just another tool in the toolbox to help businesses recover.

“The program is really targeted to those organizations who don’t have the ability to, or have not had the ability to use a human resources firm or their own firm to attract new employees to their organization.”

The maximum that businesses can apply for is $1000. Find the full criteria and application break down here.
