Wade Pilat re-elected to Grande Prairie city council

Wade Pilat will serve another term on Grande Prairie city council. He unofficially received the most votes in Monday’s by-election at 669.

In second place was fellow former councillor Kevin McLean with 432 votes. Solomon Okifoh received 407 votes, Erik Gault 318, Robin Rochon 242, Tammy Brown 232, Frank Skolly 101, and Bryan Petryshyn 21.

A total of 2,422 residents voted, which the city says is roughly five per cent of eligible voters. The results are considered unofficial until noon Friday.

Pilat was first elected in the 2017 municipal election but opted out of running in 2021. He fills a seat left vacant by the passing of Councillor John Lehners.
