No more fire restrictions for Grande Prairie Wildfire Management Area

As of 4 p.m. today, there are no more fire restrictions for the Grande Prairie Wildfire Management Area.

The fire ban in central and western Alberta has been lifted, but a restriction is in place for other parts of the north. Campfires are again allowed in campgrounds and the backcountry, as the current fire hazard is moderate with no active fires in the region.

The County of Grande Prairie has also lifted its fire ban due to the recent rain. Permits are still needed for any burning purposes, like recreational fire pits and burn barrels.
