Three teams returning to North Peace Hockey League

There will be eight teams competing in the North Peace Hockey League this season. The league has approved the return of the Valleyview Jets, Spirit River Rangers, and Fort St. John Flyers.

The Rangers and Flyers will join the Grande Prairie Athletics and Dawson Creek Canucks in the west division, while the Jets join the Falher Pirates, Grimshaw Huskies, and Manning Comets in the east. The teams have been given three options for schedules with between 18 and 22 games, and a decision is expected to be announced Thursday.

The Jets have not iced a team since they folded a couple of weeks ahead of the 2017/2018 season. The Rangers also last played in 2017, winning the league championship. The Flyers left the league in 2019.
