Now is the perfect time to clean out the back of your closet. The City of Grande Prairie and Aquatera are hosting a free clothing drop and swap event.
From Wednesday to Friday, people can drop off new and clean used clothing at the Ernie Radbourne Pavilion from 12 to 5 p.m. Then Saturday, they can come back to swap them out from 12 to 4 p.m.
Anything not taken will be picked up by Goodwill.
The event is a kick-off to Waste Reduction Week. According to Waste Reduction Canada, 95 per cent of clothing and textiles that end up in a landfill can be repurposed.
