Smile Cookie campaign raises $65K for local cancer care

The Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation has 65,000 more reasons to smile. This year’s Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign raised $65,542 for cancer care in the region.

“Your generosity during Smile Cookie week will impact the lives of thousands of patients in the Peace region,” the foundation says in a release.

Of that, $21,000 came from the Sargent Family Foundation, Ken Sargent GMC, and Sean Sargent Toyota, who bought the first 20,000 cookies again this year and delivered them to students, teachers, and administration in the City and County of Grande Prairie for the 10th year.

The cookies were sold for $1 each between September 19th and 25th.
