Suspect charged in theft of Grande Prairie area oilfield equipment

A Pouce Coupe, B.C. man is facing trafficking stolen property charges after allegedly trying to sell stolen oilfield supplies.

The Grande Prairie RCMP says the investigation began on August 17th, after it received a report of stolen oilfield supplies valued at just over $8,000. Police say tips from the public led them to believe that someone was trying to sell the reportedly stolen property.

Authorities say further investigation confirmed the items to be stolen, with 56-year-old Blaine Letendre arrested as a result. Letendre is facing a charge of possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking over $5,000.
