Work will start up again on the Staples intersection Monday night. The City of Grande Prairie says crews will be paving at 108 Street and 100 Avenue from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. until Wednesday morning.
During those hours, the intersection will be closed. Drivers will need to detour around the major intersection and delays are expected.
Milling began in the area in the first week of September, and at that time the work, including paving and painting, was slated to be done by mid-September. The area has sat as a construction zone without workers for several days.
The work being done is meant to take care of deficiences identified during an inspection in 2020. The contractor is completing it at no extra cost to the city.
After the paving is complete, line painting should be done shortly after.
