Another frost advisory issued for Grande Prairie, Peace River regions

Patchy frost is expected again Tuesday night. Environment Canada has issued an advisory for the Grande Prairie – Beaverlodge – Valleyview and Peace River – Fairview – High Prairie – Manning regions, noting some crops could be damaged.

“Clear skies and light winds will allow temperatures to drop to below zero in most regions. Patchy to widespread frost is expected Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning.”

In Grande Prairie, the forecast is calling for an overnight low of zero degrees with patchy frost. People in the area are urged to take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.

Frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.
