City survey to collect public opinion on signage

The city is looking to modernize it’s current legislation on signage in Grande Prairie.

Signage has been an issue of much debate in council chambers lately as an amendment to the Land Use Bylaw to allow case by case approval of signs on public land was recently approved.

A survey is available asking for feedback from city residents on how to best regulate a good balance between providing effective advertising for business owners, not obstructing traffic visibility, and maintaining a certain aesthetic on city streets.

The survey can be found online at the city’s website or can be picked up in person at the City Service Centre.

All data collected will be reviewed and presented to council with the Land Use Bylaw in the fall.

The deadline to respond is April 17.
