One man in custody after more than $400K seized in drug bust, one still at large

Grande Prairie RCMP have arrested one man and issued a warrant for another after the seizure of a considerable amount of cash and illegal drugs.

Police raided two Grande Prairie apartments on Sunday, one in the area of 92 Street and 96 Ave, the second in the area of 82 Ave and 97 St.

They seized more than $412,000, 915 grams of cocaine, 507 fentanyl pills, 10 ounces of crystal meth, and 2 ounces of heroin.

They also found evidence of drug trafficking.

36 year old Abdikarim Farah has been charged with one count of possession of the proceeds of crime over $5000 along with one count of a breach of recognizance.

He has been released on significant cash bail and will make his next court appearance on March 25.

Charges have also been laid against 35 year old Arte Abdillie Jama (pictured), who goes by the street name “Fresh”.

Police have issued a warrant for Jama’s arrest, who’s facing four counts of possession of controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and two counts of possession of proceeds of crime over $5000.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Jama.

If anyone has information regarding his whereabouts they are asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
