Wildfire hazard low as air quality advisory remains for Grande Prairie area

While wildfires rage in other parts of the country, the risk of one sparking in our region is going down. The wildfire hazard for the Grande Prairie Forest Area has dropped to low and there are no wildfires burning. Since the beginning of March, less than five hectares have been burned by 27 fires.

Smoke from the wildfires in B.C. is still affecting the air quality in the region, and a precautionary advisory is still in effect for all of northern Alberta. Residents are encouraged to watch for symptoms.
