A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the Grande Prairie – Beaverlodge – Valleyview region and much of the Peace region. Environment Canada says conditions could lead to dangerous thunderstorms that might be able to produce damaging wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
There is reportedly a possibility of isolated severe storms developing late this afternoon and into the evening. Residents are reminded to head indoors if they hear thunder.
